Fr. Anthony was born in Eastern Nigeria where he studied at the St. Joseph’s Seminary and Bigard Memorial Seminary obtaining a Bachelors’ Degree in both Philosophy and Theology. He was ordained on July 2nd, 1983. After two years of associate pastoral work he was commissioned as Brigade chaplain and later Divisional Chaplain. For four years, 2001 to 2004 he was the Chief Chaplain of the Nigerian Navy. He has his Master’s Degree in Pastoral counseling from Fordham University, New York and also a Master’s Degree in Education from City University of New York. He retired formally from the Nigerian Army in 2009 with the rank of Colonel.
Fr. Anthony has served as Hospital Chaplain at Long Beach Hospital and South Nassau Communities Hospital, Oceanside. He is currently assigned to St. Ignatius Martyr, Long Beach and is helping out in St. Mary of the Isle, Our Lady of The Miraculous Medal in Point Lookout and Sacred Heart Parish in Island Park. Additionally, he is a student of The Graduate Theological Foundation.
